Formation Team

The Stanford Ballroom Formation Team exists for the fun and beauty of ballroom dance performance. The emphasis will be on dancing exciting and creative choreography, learning techniques different from those in normal ballroom competition, and working together as a team to put on an impressive dance show. Our goal will be to put together a performance for Stanford's Viennese Ball in February 2010, and possibly to perform at local competitions as well.

Our coaching and choreography will be by Stephen Cullip, who has coached the US Champion USC Formation Dance Team. The team is open to ballroom dancers of all levels of experience, but we ask that you have taken at least beginning classes in some basic ballroom dances. We also strongly encourage members of the formation to take our team's group classes as well. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have questions.

We're in our first full year as a formation team, so you will get to help shape the team's direction. However, SBDT has years of prior experience putting on formation shows.
